Real faith prays. Real faith grows as we pray because prayer is a radical trust in God. When we pray we approach One who is greater than we are—both in power and perspective. When we pray, we entrust our real needs, hopes, and praises into the hands of the God who alone is God. Prayer is not an action, but rather an attitude of faith in God. |

Real faith worships God. Worship is living our faith. Worship is our heart’s response to the God who is worthy of our honor. Worship is what we do. It’s our turning from the temporal to the eternal. It’s when we are caught up, outside of ourselves, in the presence of God. And we are humbled by God’s faithfulness and love. Worship is our offering—ultimately of ourselves—in trust of God. God is who we do it for. |

Real faith reads the Bible. The Bible still speaks to the biggest issues that we face—life and death, hope and disappointment, love and hate, tragedy and joy. It’s a guide to life in a not-so-perfect world. The Bible is honest about life with all its problems and human frailties. In the Bible we come face to face with a God who went to extravagant lengths to show us the full meaning of love and mercy. |

Real faith serves God and serves others. We are called to love God, love others, and love ourselves. In doing so, we become the servants that God has intended us to be. We are challenged by Jesus to live out the greatest commandment to love the Lord our God with all our heart, and with all our soul and with our entire mind, and to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. Serving God and serving others isn’t a sign of faith, it is a product of faith, a loving response to the love God shows us. |

Real faith is about relationships. The picture in the book of Revelation is not of solitary individuals but of an eternal community. God created us for community. The eternal plan of our loving Creator is for us to be in relationship with God and others. Faith-filled friendships are gifts that point to our eternal family. |

Real faith gives generously and joyfully. All that we are and all that we have comes from God, and Christian discipleship is all about sharing God’s gifts with others. When we faithfully give back what God has given us, we glorify His name, we spread His word, and we help others both locally and around the world. Real faith gives constantly through praying to and worshipping God, reading scripture, serving others, and developing Christian relationships. |
