Baby Shower for Heather Bieker

The women of Topeka FCC are invited to attend a Baby Shower for Heather Bieker from 2-4 pm on Nov. 15 in the Fellowship Hall. Heather will be in town that weekend for worship and will enjoy seeing her friends from Topeka.  Heather is due to have her baby in February 2016. Hostesses will be Alexis Jones, Chantay VanWinkle (a high school friend of Heather’s and the expectant grandmothers, Jeanette Bieker and Barb Runge. Read more…

CROP Walk This Sunday

This year’s CROP Hunger Walk is this Sunday, October 11 at Lake Shawnee Shelter House #1. Registration and entertainment begin at 1 pm and the walk starts at 2. The walk supports Church World Service, which works with communities across the globe to provide aid such as emergency food packages, tools and seeds for families, or community solutions for clean water. Dillons Community Rewards: Quarter 3, 2015

Dillons plus cardThe Dillons Community Rewards program raises money for the church that goes back to the community.  Dillons shoppers who have linked their rewards card to First Christian Church have raised $784.88 from the first of July through the end of September 2015.  CA/CS uses these funds to contribute to various agencies in the community.

Consecration Sunday Is Coming

chalice handCongregations that approach financial stewardship from a biblical perspective do not view the money Christians give to their church merely as a way to pay its bills. Rather, such congregations see financial contributions as a way to help people grow spiritually in their relationship with God by supporting their church’s mission and ministry with a percentage of their incomes.
 
Our congregation’s stewardship team has selected the New Consecration Sunday Stewardship Program as a way to teach the biblical and spiritual principles of generous giving in our stewardship education emphasis this year. Read more…
